Dear All,
I am pleased to confirm the date for the Sweffling Fete AGM on Wednesday 6th November at 7.30pm in the Village Hut.
This year's fete was a success on many levels, thanks to the generosity of so many people and local businesses. One measurement of the success was the amount of money raised, this year we increased the overall money taken to £5,335 and the profit to £4,318, up from £3,552 in 2023. Please see the attached accounts prepared by Mike,I encourage you to take a look through them, it makes interesting reading!
As ever, there were lessons learned and things that could be improved upon, for those who have already provided input on this, many thanks. If you have ideas you would like to raise or suggestions, I would still love to hear them before the AGM so I can include them in the meeting.
One of the key objectives of the meeting is to allocate the profits to charities and groups within the village. At our last AGM it proved very worthwhile and interesting to hear some background on the groups requesting funding, how they would use the money then finally seeing the results of the activity posted on the boards displayed at the fete this year. This is something we would like to repeat this year.
If you are representing any of the groups can you please be prepared to share with the meeting the following;
- Name of the group and your role within it
- Background , eg: focus of the group, membership numbers , history , achievements.
- Project you would like funding, amount required, goals and timescales if appropriate.
The proposed agenda is as follows ;
- Introductions
- Approval of Fete accounts
- Feedback on fete - summary from input received
- Is the date still working?
- Things we should keep doing
- Things we should stop doing
- New ideas
- Increasing the team
- Applications for funding
- Appointment of committee
- AOB
- Date of next meeting
If anyone would like to add a topic to the agenda please let me know by the end of October.
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible next month!
Best regards, Steve
